Vicky and Dave - 28th August 2011 - Webbington Hotel

There were lots of familiar faces at Vicky and Dave's wedding. Vicky and her mum got in touch with me after I photographed her sisters wedding last September and I was delighted to be asked to be part of a second wedding of this lovely family. The Webbington was the ideal venue choice on such a lovely summers day. The terrace with views over Somerset was great for some relaxed photos and the gorgeous bridal suite had a lovely naturally lit space for some pictures of Vicky once she was ready for her big day. This couple really liked colour spot photos and the Groom's old VW Beetle was the perfect feature for this type of shot.

Tamsin and Rob - 22nd August 2011 - Orchardleigh Estate

Tamsin and Rob won their wedding package with me last summer, when Rob's mum Carol entered them for a competition in West Weddings Magazine. The couple tied the knot in the grounds of the Orchardleigh Estate in the tiny Church of St Mary. I always love photographng this particular venue as it sits on an island in a lake and is lit entirely by candles, its a really enchanting place to say "I do". The ceremony was made even more special by a beautiful solo of Ave Maria by the grooms sister during the signing of the register. Canapes and drinks on the lawn of the main house were followed by a delicious dinner and a really orginal speech by the Bestman that involved a quiz about the Groom. Jen and I were made to feel so welcome by this lovely couple and are looking forward to shwoing them their gallery on return from Tanzania.

Zaya and Carl - 14th August 2011 - Wick Farm nr Bath

Sunday saw the second of two new venues for me this weekend. Zaya and Carl held their ceremony and reception at Wick Farm near Bath, a  really picturesque location that suited their relaxed day perfectly. The couple wanted emphasis on natural reportage photography on their special day, which was ideal for the beautiful weather they had. I loved how much personality went into this wedding. With a fingerprint canvas as an alternative to a guest book where couples were invited to leave a little more of themselves behind than just some pretty words and a crisp buffet instead of canapes, this happy couple had every detail thought out. Much like Carl's proposal. One of my favourite ever proposal stories came from this lovely pair. Carl asked Zaya to marry him by getting 50 people into formation to spell out 'Will you marry me' on a hill, so that as Zaya crossed the peak of the hill opposite she saw the message... personally I can't imagine anyone saying no to that!

Luiza and Grant - 12th August 2011 - St Andrews, Banwell and Clevedon Hall

I had another blast from the past last Friday with the wedding of Luiza and Grant. I used to catch the bus to school with Grant a very long time ago, and recently got in conact with him again when a mutual friend recommended me as a photographer. Since our school days he's managed to do quite well for himself in persuading the beautiful Brazilian Luiza to marry him after they met while travelling. This day was just wonderful, the happy couple had well wishers travel from all over the world to attend their special day. Vows in both English and Portugese and a speech on behalf of both families from the grooms dad were really lovely. Clevedon Hall were fantastic hosts and I very much hope to be returning to this beautiful setting in the future for more weddings.

Elizabeth and Martin - 31st July 2011 - Bath Spa Hotel

Sunday saw a beautiful marriage in the luxurious Bath Spa Hotel. This gorgeous setting required lots of wide angle shots to ensure the grand architecture was captured in all of its glory and a hot pink colour scheme as well as countless beautiful saris were a wonderful splash of colour and stood out really well against the formal backdrop. Liz and Martin originally had a very different idea of their dream day, but last year won a wedding at the hotel through a local radio station, a fantastic prize I'm sure you will agree! Sunday was the first of two big day's for this happy couple, next week they will be celebrating again with over 600 guests travelling from all over the world!

Heather and Phil - 30th July 2011 - All Saints Church, Publow and Pensford Memorial Hall

Heather and Phil's wedding was every brides summer dream. The brides attention to detail in her vinage tea party come country fete style day was second to none and soft pastel shades and lace complemented her floral decor beautifully. Heather and her army of helpers including the wonderfully organised Julia from JDW weddings transformed their venue into the ideal wedding location. Hampers of delicious food and a cream tea topped off the couples day which was a delight to be part of.
